How we record sources, date public project figures, label contractor prices and keep local maps and guidance useful.

How the research is recorded

We prioritize original city, county, state and federal records: codes, checklists, fee schedules, council agendas and agency rules. Each fact records its publisher, source link, jurisdiction, check date and limitations. Where an official site blocked automated reading, the fact says how the text was read.

Building Department Checklist for Dock Permits · Fla. Admin. Code R. 62-330.051 - Exempt Activities

Price evidence stays in its original scope

Contractor price ranges are cited by name and kept in their published units. Public bids keep their project scope and year and are never turned into a residential per-foot price. The calculator uses your own written prices.

Find your waterfront on the maps

Our maps use U.S. Census Bureau county geometry and water features. Neighborhood markers help you find the local guide, waterway and permit resources for your area.

Keep the evidence with the correction

A useful correction names the page, the statement and the record that supports a change. We update the page and its source record together.
