Get to know your waterfront

Tradition is a master-planned community in western Port St. Lucie served by eleven Tradition Community Development Districts, with ten Southern Grove districts next door. Its lakes are part of the community stormwater system, so the bank behind a yard is often a district or association tract; confirm the owner on your plat.

District assets and new lakes

Newer lakes can still be settling, and banks steepen where irrigation or roof runoff concentrates. Report erosion to the district and get written approval before installing anything at the water’s edge.

Nearby communities show how the city shares the cost: Riverland’s association took on its stormwater system in 2020 in exchange for a stormwater fee rebate, and similar agreements followed for Sundance and Wylder in 2025. What could the work cost?

If the district maintains the bank, its contractor and budget control the repair. If the bank is on your lot, ask the district for its approved methods before getting bids.
