Verano lake bank planning
Lake bank erosion and shoreline approvals in Verano and PGA Village Verano, Port St. Lucie: CDDs, the C-24 nearby, plats and repair planning.

Verano is served by five Verano community development districts and the Verano Center CDD, all established by city ordinance in 2005, and is platted as dozens of pods including Verano South. In the city’s GIS the C-24 canal touches the Verano neighborhood, while its own lakes are part of the community stormwater system.

Large lakes, long fetch
Wind fetch on larger lakes and irrigation outfalls cause most bank erosion. Lake banks are often district or association tracts, so confirm tract ownership and approval steps before shoreline work.
Lots that back onto the C-24 itself are different: that canal is an SFWMD work of the district, and structures in its right-of-way need a 40E-6 permit. St. Lucie County Community Development Districts layer · Works of the District Subject to Chapter 40E-6, F.A.C. (Right of Way Occupancy Permits)
What could the work cost?
Ask the district for its lake-bank standard before getting quotes, and keep C-24 frontage separate in any scope.
Published examples are attributed context from Treasure Coast and nearby South Florida sources, not a Port St. Lucie average or a quote. Your wall needs a property-specific written scope.

Verano project questions
Is my lake bank my responsibility?
Often not, but it depends on the tract owner shown on your Verano plat; ask the district.

Can I put riprap on the lake edge?
Only with district approval, consistent with the community’s SFWMD permit.
